Panelists:
Bryan Anderson, Vice Chair of Content and Channels, Mayo

Bryan Anderson is vice chair in Mayo Clinic’s Communications Department, overseeing content strategy, media relations and social media. During his 17-year Mayo Clinic tenure, he has held a number of leadership positions across a variety of functions including corporate communications, media relations, and issues and crisis management, and also served as interim chief public affairs officer.

Prior to his work at Mayo Clinic, Bryan served as communications director, campaign manager and constituent services representative for a Member of Congress over four terms. He also served as operations specialist for four years in the United States Navy, where he completed deployments to Southeast Asia and Central and South America.

Bryan holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in political science (organizational leadership), as well as a B.A. in political science and mass communications, from the University of South Dakota.

Joe Campbell, Vice President of Public Relations, Fairview

Joe Campbell is the Vice President of Communications and Public Relations at Fairview Health Services. In a career spanning nearly 20 years, Joe has provided communications leadership for organizations in every level of government serving in leadership roles for Senator Amy Klobuchar, St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, and for Governor Mark Dayton as head of MNsure external affairs. He served as chief communications and marketing counsel for CEOs of organizations large and small as Partner of Corporate Affairs at ICF Next, a national brand and marketing agency. And he continues to drive his coworkers nuts at Fairview Health Services. Joe is a proud Gustie having received his bachelor’s degree from Gustavus Adolphus College. He’s a member of the GiveMN board and serves on the Minneapolis Planning Commission. He and his wife Emily are the proud parents of three amazing kids who live in South Minneapolis. 

Hillery Shay, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Children’s Minnesota

Hillery Smith Shay is the Vice President, Marketing & Communications for Children’s Minnesota. Shay brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in health care and mass communication, with a proven track record of success leading national and global public health campaigns and marketing initiatives. She is a change agent with a reputation for transformative leadership and team building. Shay has served in leadership roles at Abbott Labs leading professional education, marketing, communications and scientific congress strategy. She also served as a journalist and team leader for more than 10 years at the Associated Press and the Baltimore Sun, including as a photojournalist covering two sitting U.S. presidents as well as the Pentagon on 9/11.
